The Pad partners with college and university climbing clubs to make climbing more accessible and community-driven. Our Climbing Club Membership is designed for recognized student climbing organizations that embody our values of inclusion, growth, and adventure.
Climbing Club Members get a special stacked discount and access to group perks that make it easier to climb, train, and connect — while keeping things simple for club leadership.
How It Works
Apply as a Recognized Climbing Club
Approved clubs receive:
A $5 discount on top of the standard Student membership rate.
Access to a Google Sheet roster template to keep things easy and uniform.
Maintain a Current Roster
Each term, your club submits an updated roster within three weeks of the start of classes.
There’s a one-month grace period after the start of each term.
Any memberships not listed on the official roster after that point will be paused or canceled.
Student memberships stay active through the summer automatically.
Annual Renewal
Every year, we’ll check in to confirm your club’s leadership contact info and school recognition status. This ensures we can maintain your discount and support you consistently.
Affinity Group Perks
Climbing Clubs are part of our C4C Affinity Program, which celebrates organizations that build connection, equity, and access in the outdoors.
As a recognized Affinity Partner, your club receives:
1 free group meetup per month (max 2 hours, up to 20 people)
$100 per additional session (up to 20 people)
Partner Membership pricing for club members and one family member
15% off belay class at your club’s start and each year thereafter (up to 6 people)
Free rentals (harness, chalk bag, belay devices, lead ropes) for group sessions
Use of a lounge or meeting room once a month for non-climbing gatherings
Optional co-marketing for major events (with pre-approval)
Group Hosting Policies
We love seeing groups in the gym — but we also protect the experience of our members.
Here’s how we balance both:
Groups of 10 or more must be scheduled in advance.
Peak hours are reserved for regular member access; groups are scheduled during off-peak or designated community times.
Dedicated space rental fees apply if your group requires exclusive climbing space or displaces regular users.
One-time rental: $50
Recurring weekly use (1 hr/week): $120/month
Birthday Parties and Large Private Rentals (like orientations or retreats) follow separate pricing:
Birthday Parties: $385 base (10 climbers) + $25 per additional climber
Full Facility Rental: $10,000 peak / $5,000 off-peak (includes 3 staff)
If your group uses the space for profit (instruction, photography, vending, etc.), you’ll be routed through our Vendor Program instead.
