Setting Crew

The Pad’s route-setting crew is responsible for the creation of The Pad’s primary service. We believe that quality setting motivates, inspires, and teaches our members to be better climbers and to grow as individuals and members of the community. Route Setters are responsible for helping to make The Pad a model of the industry by creating high-quality and innovative routes that will continually excite our members and visitors. • Helping to maintain climbing routes between scheduled setting days on an as-needed basis (including holds, tape, t-nuts, etc.)
  • Attending annual events hosted by the gym, especially when route setting is a centerpiece of the event
  • Attending relevant USAC setting clinics, working at height clinics, and/or other professional development courses related to route setting, gym safety, and the climbing gym industry as budgeting allows and management requests
