On December 31, 2024, The Pad Henderson (formerly Origin Climbing + Fitness) closed its doors and brought down its walls.
We acquired the gym from longtime friends with the dream of growing a sustainable, community-driven space for the Vegas Valley. But the timing was rough—between the pandemic hitting just as we stepped in, rising maintenance costs, and a lease that became increasingly untenable, we made the difficult decision to close.
We didn’t pass it off to another operator because, frankly, the lease conditions weren’t favorable for anyone. Instead, we chose to regroup and commit to building something better: a flagship gym that visitors need to experience and locals claim as their third space and community backbone.
We’ve explored several promising locations, but Las Vegas is a uniquely challenging real estate market. While we’re still actively looking—with an excellent real estate partner and dedicated team—we’re committed to doing it right. That means not rushing into another unsustainable situation.
We still have a strong Vegas-based team, many HQ staff live and work there, and our commitment to the community hasn’t changed. We’re staying transparent about where we’re at—and this page is how we’ll keep you informed.
We also know others are eyeing the Vegas market. We wish them luck. Our goal remains the same: to give Las Vegas the climbing gym it truly deserves, under conditions that allow it to thrive long-term. If that’s us, amazing. If not, we’ll still be rooting for the community.
We’re invested—financially, emotionally, and personally. We hope to see you again soon.
